Recognized Program and Designation

Think Business Training offers three designations: Canadian Professional Supervisor (CPS), Canadian Administrative Professional (CAP) and Certified Canadian Professional Trainer (CCPT).

The model for these designations was developed over a period of many years by our founder Kaye Parker and is based upon the Quality Management System of PBBA Atlantic Inc. which meets the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001 (2000). This system addresses the design, development, production, delivery, and follow-up of the company’s products and services.

Requirements for the CPS and the CAP are the completion of 90 hours of training (this includes pre-assignments, and post assignments, plus an open book exam. Participants are required to earn a pass mark of 80%. The CCPT requirement is 45 hours of training plus a practical component that includes planning, delivering and gathering evaluations for a training workshop, in addition to the open book exam. The exam cannot be written before the practical assignment is completed, passed in to the instructor and scored. Again the pass mark is 80%.

Certified Trainer Diploma

Presently the only way to achieve the Diploma or Designation is by taking our Boot Camp.

Lead facilitators for this program have themselves completed training in adult education, and have many years of experience as facilitators and trainers. They deliver training for Saint Mary’s University Professional Development Program, Province of Nova Scotia Public Service Commission, Halifax Regional Municipality and City of Fredericton, Government of Nunavut and many private clients.

In 2012 Kaye Parker delivered in-house Train the Trainer workshops for Public Works and Government Services Canada, for Government of Nunavut, and facilitated several public offerings for participants came from a diverse group of municipal, provincial and federal departments as well as private industry.

The Designation Requires 12 Days

Kaye, Mike and Sharon delivered one intensive Train the Trainer Boot Camp. As an example of who attends boot camps, the March Boot Camp attendees were three in-house trainers from the private sector, three government employees who train within their department from time to time, two independent trainers, and two individuals who wanted to do more training, either on a contract basis or to help their organization.

The boot camp, along with it's homework assignment of developing, delivering and submitting your documentation makes up the 12 days required for this designation.  This combination is unique to this designation only.  Most past participants have enjoyed and benefited from the boot camp and homework immensely.
