The Lead Hand Designation is focused on a person’s professional development by making the transition to leadership, understanding roles and responsibilities, planning and prioritizing, developing leadership and communication skills, handling problems, and the basics of motivation and delegation.
A Lead Hand has a unique challenge in their role. They have to lead a team of people without having direct authority to reprimand, provide incentives, etc. For this reason, the program focuses on skills that allow them to conduct their daily functions through the understanding of how people react differently in similar situations. Lead Hands learn to communicate based on their own personality and understanding the personality of others.
They learn to lead through difficult situations and how generation gaps can impact or improve productivity on the floor. Each one of these leaders has a common CORE set of skills - our program is built on this core, something which we have mastered throughout our decades of training, feedback and course design.
